A northwest suburban woman has been charged with sexual assault and sexual abuse after multiple incidents involving a 16-year-old boy, police said.
Barrington police revealed 41-year-old Veronica Reyes was arrested Tuesday and has been charged with four counts of felony criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
The charges stem from a report made to the Barrington Police Department alleging sexual contact between Reyes and a 16-year-old boy, who police said she knew.
“During the investigation, it was revealed that the alleged sexual contact occurred on multiple occasions on separate dates,” the department said in a release.
The investigation involved officers from the Barrington Police Department and Lake County Specialized Victims/Sex Crimes Unit, police said.
