ROCHESTER, N.Y. — More than 550 students from nine schools took part in the 37th annual Conservation Field Days at Ellison Park.

The Monroe County Soil and Water Conservation District hosted the event Tuesday, bringing together more than 30 instructors from local conservation and environmental groups. Students experienced hands-on outdoor education learning about conservation topics from experts in the field.

“The hope for these kids is that they get an appreciation for the various aspects of conservation,” said Jacob Kearney, a conservation specialist for the Monroe County Soil and Water Conservation District.

The next Conservation Field Days is scheduled for Thursday.
