Boosie Badazz isn’t happy with how short his 60 Minutes segment was.
The Louisiana rapper recently sat down with the popular news show to talk about his attempt to get a pardon from President Trump through convicted scammers Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman. However, he felt like producers of the show left much of what he discused with host Lesley Stahl out of the segment that aired, so he took to X and posted a lengthy statement.
“I did a hour interview with 60 Minutes about what happened with my lawsuit but only a few things got put out,” he wrote. “I talked about how before this situation happened that I sat down with the pardon czar at the White House discussing why I felt I needed a pardon. I told them I felt Ms. Alice [Marie Johnson] would help me but the judge ended up dismissing the case a few months later so she didn’t need to. A month later they picked my case back up n gave me the same charges n added a charge of me being [an addict] around a firearm.”
He added: “How am I [an addict] when I have never been to rehab. I was sentenced to 10 years n state prison for 3rd offense marijuana n never offered rehab. We had proof that these thieves said the president signed the pardon. I was asked what I wanted out of this situation n I said, ‘I wanted the president to look at my case with Ms. Alice n see if its worth a pardon!!’ I also said, ‘I wanted him to take n consideration how I was done wrong by these people who lied on him to do so!!’ My story wasn’t told fully but hopefully this interview will prove my point clearly n civil court that I need to be compensated x 10.”
During his segment, Boosie explained to Stahl that he was led to believe if he gave Wohl and Burkman $600,000, he would get a pardon, and if it didn’t happen, he would get half of it back. “This is what I was led to believe. If you come with this money, you will get a pardon,” he said. “I just thought, ‘This is the way it’s done.’ I’m paying these guys, and you know, they’re gonna make it happen.”
However, when he realized that the pardon wasn’t going to happen, he tried to get his money back, but so far hasn’t been able to. “I said, ‘Just return it. You didn’t get my pardon. It’s a bunch of BS.’ And they were so cocky,” he continued.
Boosie and his lawyers have filed a lawsuit in an effort to get at least $300K back.
