ROCHESTER, N.Y. – High pressure overhead, combined with cool and dry air will lead to a cool and comfortable night Monday night. We’ll see a partly cloudy to mainly clear sky, with temperatures dropping into the upper 40s and lower 50s. A warm front lifting through will bring a period of more clouds, especially Tuesday morning, then we’ll tend to pop back into a little more sunshine. Highs behind that warm front will warm into the mid 70s.
Another cold front will approach on Wednesday, then tend to stall out overhead. This will bring some showers, possibly a rumble of thunder Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, then a few passing showers on Wednesday. So we’ll be a little unsettled mid-week, but shouldn’t see a washout. That front will remain nearby on Thursday. That will keep rain chances around on Thursday, too. At this point, it looks like the highest rain chances will peak in the early afternoon, then hopefully taper off into the evening. We’ll be watching the timing of the rain closely, as the Bills play their home opener Thursday night at the new Highmark Stadium.
Once that rain and associated cold front push through, we’ll get another push of fall-like air into Friday, with highs back into the upper 60s to near 70 degrees, low humidity and dry air.
