South Carolina will be celebrating a very special thing while it goes about the business of trying to take out Towson on Saturday night in Columbia.
And while the Gamecocks are an enormous favorite over the FCS team from the Coastal Athletic Association, the 7 p.m. ET kickoff on SEC Network+ will introduce to the home fans something they likely will never forget. That’s because Shane Beamer‘s team will be celebrating its mascot, too, with Cocky’s induction into the Mascot Hall of Fame.
The Gamecocks will be wearing special helmet decals for the Week 2 clash, and here is that soon-to-be iconic South Carolina special helmet, which features Cocky himself on the side of it:

The Cocky helmets won’t become part of a permanent rotation, according to Mitchell, who also reported on Saturday that the Gamecock players are “pumped” about the special helmets.
