ROCHESTER, N.Y. – High pressure building in will keep our weather quiet and comfortable through the end of the school and work week. We’ll see some clouds for a few hours Thursday night, then we’ll clear things out nicely by morning as that high continues to build in. This will set the stage for a cool and comfortable Friday morning. Much like many mornings on September 11th, we’ll see a beautiful blue sky with a few passing clouds from time to time. Temperatures Friday morning will dip into the lower to mid 50s away from the lake, upper 40s further south. It’ll remain a little cool but very comfortable through the day Friday, with highs topping out in the lower 70s with low humidity.
High pressure will slide east of us on Saturday, which will allow the wind to switch out of the south and our temperatures to warm back into the lower 80s. Overall Saturday will be another nice, late summer day, though we’ll tend to see the clouds thicken up a bit later in the day. Any rain should hold off until Sunday, when a weak cold front swings through. While Sunday will feature some showers, it’ll be far from a washout, and still on the mild side with highs well into the 70s ahead of that front.
Next week will be a little more unsettled, as a couple of fronts move through, and at times get stuck over us. This especially looks to be the case by Tuesday night and through early Friday of next week. This will boost our rain chances starting late Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, before dropping off again by late next week. The forecast for the Bills home opener next Thursday does include some rain, but this is still very early. So if you’re going to the game next Thursday, check back in, as the forecast will likely change somewhat.
