The Warning and Mastodon occupy the top two positions on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart dated Sept. 12, with The Warning earning its first No. 1 on the survey.
The Warning’s Everything’s Falling bows atop the list with 32,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States in the week ending Sept. 3, according to Luminate. As for Mastodon, Marrow Deep is the rockers’ sixth top two since the survey’s 2007 inception. That count includes three No. 1s, most recently via 2021’s Hushed and Grim.
Both Everything’s Falling and Marrow Deep also start within the top 10 of Top Rock & Alternative Albums, the former at No. 4 and the latter at No. 9. On the all-genre Billboard 200, both rank inside the top 40 (Everything’s Falling at No. 17 and Marrow Deep at No. 40).
The albums are among the week’s top-selling vinyl releases as well. Everything’s Falling debuts at No. 3 on the Vinyl Albums chart (13,000 copies), followed by Marrow Deep at No. 5 (7,000).
The Warning and Mastodon concurrently have songs that appear on Hot Hard Rock Songs, paced by The Warning’s “Kerosene” at No. 2 thanks to 3.1 million radio audience impressions and 432,000 chart-eligible streams. Mastodon’s “Barbarians Blood” follows at No. 18 (425,000 streams).
