A dog supplement sold on Amazon and Chewy has been recalled over a risk of salmonella contamination.
Fi recalled multiple supplements, including its calming supplement, after an ingredient supplied to its manufacturer may have contaminated the products with salmonella.
According to the recall alert, the manufacturer has suspended production while it investigates and Fi began alerting customers “out of an abundance of caution.”
“Consumers who have purchased any of the above product lots should discontinue use of the product, make sure the container is tightly sealed, and dispose of it in the trash,” the alert stated.
The products were distributed to consumers via Amazon and Chewy.com, according to the company.

Salmonella can not only affect animals eating a contaminated product, but also the humans handling the items or an infected animal’s waste. People with salmonella might experience symptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and fever.
Rare complications could include arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms.
For pets, infections could appear as lethargy, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting.
“Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans,” the alert stated. “If your animal has consumed any of the recalled products and has these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian.”
