ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — For the first time in the history of the Buffalo Bills’ stadium, this year’s home opener will feature both the U.S. and Canadian national anthems.
The Bills made the announcement on Facebook. Auli’i Cravalho, best known as the voice of “Moana” in the Disney animated film, will sing the U.S. National Anthem. Barenaked Ladies, the hit Canadian rock band, will perform the Canadian National Anthem.
That won’t be the only music at the home opener. OneRepublic will headline a half-time show to celebrate the first regular-season game at the new $2.1 billion Highmark Stadium. Fans will get LED bracelets before kickoff, which will light up during the halftime performance.
The Bills will play their home opener against the Detroit Lions on Thursday, Sept. 17. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m., and you can only watch it through Amazon Prime Video. You can also listen to radio coverage through the Buffalo Bills Radio Network (Rock 95.1 FM in Rochester).
