According to the tour’s website, there are currently only six shows scheduled for the United States as part of the tour, which will get underway October 13 in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
The Chicago show will be the second stateside performance of the tour, which will also make stops in New York, Washington, D.C., Detroit and Los Angeles.
According to a press release, Wonder will perform the 1976 “Songs in the Key of Life” album in its entirety on each night of the tour, along with some of his other classic songs.
The Chicago stop on the tour will take place at the United Center on Saturday, November 21. Tickets will go on sale for the show beginning on Thursday, according to the United Center’s website.
“Songs in the Key of Life” was first released in 1976, and was certified diamond in the United States, topping out at No. 1 on the U.S. charts. Featuring iconic songs like “Isn’t She Lovely,” the album won Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards, and is considered one of the greatest records ever released.
Wonder’s follow-up albums “Hotter Than July,” “In Square Circle,” and “Characters” were all certified platinum in the United States.
