A recall has been issued for ready-to-eat salads and cream cheese due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The affected products were distributed in New York City, including Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, by direct delivery to both retail stores and distributors in 30-pound and 5-pound white plastic tubs with either a Made Fresh Salads Label or a Northside Label. They were also distributed in half-size aluminum pans. The recall also notes that some of the products “may have been repackaged by retail locations in deli-style or other retail packaging.”

As of publication, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the affected products. Listeria infection can cause different symptoms, including upset stomach, diarrhea, and vomiting, as well as headaches, fatigue, fever, and chills, according to the Mayo Clinic. It can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems.
The recalled salads have expiration dates between September 3, 2026, and September 18, 2026, and include a wide variety of flavors, including but not limited to coleslaw, egg salad, tuna salad, pasta salad, quinoa salad, and potato salad.
