It had been reported that the 86-year-old music legend would have a reduced role on the next season of the talent show, with ITV said to be planning a major refresh to its coaching panel.
In a statement, Sir Tom wrote: "To be clear, I did not want to leave The Voice as I love the show and really appreciate the audience.
Sir Tom claimed that ITV has offered him "a much-reduced role" where he would make an appearance but would not be involved from the start – something he is "not thrilled" about.
Radio Times has approached ITV for comment.
