Optioned to Nashville a month ago, Sproat has a 4.00 ERA in 18 Triple-A innings. His strikeout rate has shot up to 34.6% strikeout rate, though his control (12.8BB%) remains an issue. Sproat only worked as a reliever in his most recent outing, though he only once logged five full innings in his four prior starts. It’s a tough ask for Sproat to fully replicate Anderson’s steady performance, but the 25-year-old will get an opportunity to show if he might be worthy of inclusion on Milwaukee’s postseason roster.
