ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Firefighters and community members gathered this morning for the annual Rochester 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.
The event honors the FDNY firefighters who died in the attacks on the World Trade Center. The Spencerport Fire District posted pictures from the climb.
The group walked the equivalent of 110 flights of stairs to honor the 343 first responders who died, as well as those lost to 9/11-related cancer. The firefighters were joined by Gail Fowler, who continues to support the foundation in memory of her husband, firefighter Robert Fowler.
