CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — Two of the people responsible for the torture and murder of transgender man Sam Nordquist will be sentenced Tuesday in Ontario County Court.

Precious Arzuaga and Jennifer Quijano will learn their fate. News10NBC spoke with the Nordquist family about what the judge’s decision means to them.
Neither Arzuaga nor Quijano were given plea deals. They both face terms of up to life in prison with no chance of parole.

Investigators say Nordquist was tortured at Patty’s Lodge before being dumped in a Yates County field. New York State Police found Nordquist’s body on Feb. 13, 2025.
Nordquist’s family told News10NBC that he traveled to Canandaigua months earlier, in September, to meet Arzuaga. Nordquist’s family got suspicious after losing contact with him and reported him missing on Feb. 9.
