Everything Sprouts, LLC, announced they are voluntary recalling certain lots of its Robust Radish Sprout Mix on Aug 28. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published the recall on Aug. 29.
Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) are strains of bacteria that harm your cells, according to the Cleveland Clinic. It most often causes diarrhea (often watery and sometimes bloody), stomach pains, cramps, loss of appetite, and low fever.
Symptoms normally appear within three to five days after consuming contaminated food or beverages. It can cause serious and even life-threatening infections in young children, adults over 65 years old, and those with weakened immune systems.
Salmonella is a bacterial disease that impacts the intestinal tract, according to the Mayo Clinic. Humans are typically infected after ingesting contaminated water or food. Common symptoms include fever, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), nausea, vomiting, headache, chills, and abdominal pain.
The Minneapolis-based company distributed the product between August 13, 2026, and August 26, 2026. It was sent to both wholesale distributors and grocery stores in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Robust Radish Sprout Mix was packaged in 5-ounce cups, barcode 087906000075, lots 223, 226, 230, and 233.
Everything Sprouts recently recalled its Alfalfa Sprouts, Crunchy Protein Sprout Mix, and Zesty Garlic Mix. This makes Robust Radish Sprout Mix the fourth one this month.
In the FDA’s announcement, it included the statement, “We continue to work closely with public health officials to investigate the source of this potential issue and will provide updates as they become available.”
Adding: “Retailers and distributors who believe they have received affected lots of Alfalfa Sprouts should immediately stop selling and distributing the Alfalfa Sprouts in inventory and dispose of them according to local protocols. Additionally, they should carefully clean and sanitize any surfaces or containers that the product may have touched. Federal and state agencies have not received any reports of illness related to Robust Radish Sprouts Mix.
