QUEENS, N.Y. — After beating Elena-Gabriela Ruse of Romania in straight sets on Sunday, Buffalo’s Jessica Pegula has moved on to the second round of the U.S. Open in Queens.
Pegula, ranked No. 3, will take on American Sofia Kenin (ranked 110) on Wednesday. Kenin beat tennis legend and former World No. 1 Venus Williams on Sunday night in straight sets.
The time for Pegula’s next match hasn’t been announced yet, but it will be available to watch on ESPN, the ESPN App, and the Tennis Channel.
