It’s not often that a former top-10 pick in the NFL Draft is voluntarily waived by a team, but that occurred Sunday.
With teams across the league making roster adjustments as they look to adhere to guidelines and balance their depth charts, the Chicago Bears made a move that drew plenty of attention.
Former top-10 pick Jedrick Wills spent the majority of his career with the Cleveland Browns before landing in Chicago, but the Alabama alum will now be looking for a new home in the league.
CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz reported Sunday that the Bears waived Wills, who has 57 career starts in the NFL after he was drafted in 2020.

A MCL injury suffered during the 2023 season derailed Wills’ promising start to his professional career, and he continued to struggle with the ailment in 2024, appearing in just 5 games.
Wills became a free agent following the 2024 campaign, and he did not join a team in 2025 as he rehabilitated his injury.
