ROCHESTER, N.Y. – An upper level ridge to our southwest and an upper level trough to our northeast will set up today, forming a frontal boundary and chances for wet weather today through Thursday. Today’s wet weather won’t be too bad, just a few scattered afternoon and evening showers alongside plenty of clouds, highs in the mid 70s, and slightly muggy air. Starting tomorrow, we won’t be so lucky.
Showers are likely and storms are possible overnight mainly to our southwest, then staying mainly rain free for Monday morning, followed by scattered showers and storms Monday afternoon and evening. Tuesday we will see a ridge rider storm complex move through, which may bring impactful stormy weather for the afternoon and evening, though due to the finnicky nature of ridge rider storms the exact location, timing, and impacts are still hard to nail down at this point. We are Green on the Threat Tracker for now but may issue a Yellow if it looks increasingly dicey.
Another chance for ridge rider storms on Wednesday, again with a risk of heavy rain and stormy weather, then Thursday should be the last day of wet weather before we clear up on Friday and stay mostly sunny through next weekend.
