Langley turned to her Instagram Story to share a photo of Parton and a message about the singer’s influence as an artist and as a woman in the music industry.
“Dolly, thank you for standing up for yourself as an artist, a songwriter, a musician, a producer, an author, a creative, and most importantly a woman in this industry,” Langley wrote.
Parton’s death has brought a wave of tributes from across the music world. For Langley, whose own career has reached new heights in 2026, the loss of the country legend also served as a moment to recognize the path Parton created for women and artists who wanted to follow their own voice.

Parton died at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville, surrounded by loved ones, according to a statement shared with People. Her representatives said she had faced a brief battle with cancer, though the type of cancer was not disclosed.
Her nephew, Bryan Seaver, also announced the news, sharing a video message on Instagram on behalf of the Parton and Owens family.
Langley’s message focused on the many roles Parton held throughout her life. Beyond being a singer, Parton built a career as a songwriter, musician, producer, author and creative force.
Langley thanked her for showing other artists that they could be themselves.

The tribute arrives during a major year for Langley. Her hit “Choosin’ Texas” has continued to dominate the charts, while she has also been traveling across the United States on her Dandelion Tour.
The song recently reached its 19th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, tying it with Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road” for the longest run at the top among non-holiday songs.
Parton spent decades building one of the most successful careers in country music. She was the best-selling female country music artist of all time and sold more than 160 million albums worldwide.
Her career began with her 1967 debut album, Hello, I’m Dolly. Over the years, she recorded and wrote songs that became classics, including “Jolene,” “9 to 5” and “I Will Always Love You.”
Parton also created the Imagination Library, which has donated hundreds of millions of books to children. Her representatives said her generosity reached countless people and described her desire to help others as a guiding force throughout her life.
Parton had recently spoken about health issues she had been facing. Just days before her death, she said she was still healing but also continued to work on the many projects she wanted to complete.
Her death came more than a year after the loss of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, who died in March 2025.
