The International Swimming League (ISL) announced today that it will be making its highly anticipated return with the 2026 All-Match, set to take place on December 19 at the London Aquatics Center.
This will be the first action put on by the ISL since December of 2021. According to a press release from the ISL, competing athletes, who have not yet been announced, will race for the “largest prize pool ever offered for a single night of competitive swimming,” which has also not yet been disclosed.

Ben Allen, the commissioner of the ISL, mentioned that London is the “perfect host city, with a venue built for nights like this and in front of one of the world’s great sporting audiences”.
“The All-Star Match is the moment swimming has been waiting for: the world’s best athletes, back on the ISL stage. London is the perfect host city, with a venue built for nights like this and in front of one of the world’s great sporting audiences. We cannot wait to give fans a night to remember.”
That excitement is reciprocated by Chris Wells, the contract manager for Everyone Active, who manages the London Aquatics Centre, adding that the legacy that the venue carries will only add to what he calls will be a “fantastic experience for athletes, spectators and fans around the world.”
“We are delighted to welcome the International Swimming League back to London and to London Aquatics Centre for what promises to be a spectacular night of racing. The venue has a proud legacy of hosting major swimming events and some of the world’s best swimmers, while remaining a facility enjoyed by the local community every day. Seeing the ISL bring its unique format to our competition pool will be a fantastic experience for athletes, spectators and fans around the world. We look forward to working with the ISL to make the 2026 All-Star Match a memorable night for swimming.”
The event is reportedly going to be a “two-hour head-to-head competition”
According to the ISL press release, ticketing and broadcasting information will be announced as the event draws closer.
The date does not interfere with the World Short Course Swimming Championships, which will take place in Beijing, China, from December 1-6.
The ISL has been dormant since the league’s cancellation in 2022, which halted the 4th season of competition due to both the COVID-19 Pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
More recently, the ISL made its way back into the headlines after paying out $3,000 in solidarity payments to its athletes in May, and later sending letters to the athletes stating that their prize money from season three would be paid out in full.
The new College Swimming League (CSL), founded by Robert Kent, the former general manager and owner of the Toronto Titans of the ISL, is set to kick off this coming college season and is also reportedly being supported by the ISL. However, it is not clear how much support they are offering.
