After a strong spell at Bolton Wanderers, Liverpool signed the Hungarian goalkeeper in the summer of 2015, with hopes that he could challenge Simon Mignolet for the number one spot.
Instead, Bogdan made just six appearances across two seasons, never coming close to displacing Mignolet. His limited impact sees him narrowly edge Brad Jones for the goalkeeper spot in Liverpool's worst Premier League XI.
RB: Jan Kromkamp
The Dutchman joined Liverpool in the January window of 2006, with Josemi, another underwhelming signing, heading in the opposite direction to Villarreal.
Kromkamp made just 18 appearances for the Reds before struggling to dislodge Steve Finnan as the first-choice right-back. He managed only one appearance the following season before returning to the Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven.
CB: Sebastian Coates
Unlike Luis Suarez, the other Uruguayan to arrive at Liverpool around the same time, Sebastian Coates failed to live up to expectations after joining from Nacional for around £7m.
Coates made just 12 Premier League appearances across two seasons, and his Liverpool spell is more often remembered for his error-prone defending than the spectacular goal he scored at Loftus Road.
CB: Mauricio Pellegrino
After enjoying a successful spell at Valencia, Mauricio Pellegrino reunited with his former manager Rafa Benitez at Liverpool, joining the Reds on a free transfer in the January window.
The Argentine managed just 13 appearances before leaving for Alaves later that year. His brief and underwhelming spell at Anfield earns him a place in this XI, although he faced strong competition from Bjørn Tore Kvarme for the spot.
LB: Paul Konchesky
Roy Hodgson brought his trusted left-back from Fulham in 2010, during one of the bleakest periods in Liverpool's recent history. It was an era when mediocrity had become all too familiar at Anfield, and Paul Konchesky soon became a symbol of those struggles.
His performances were so underwhelming that the Anfield crowd sarcastically cheered him against Wolves, while his mother later made disparaging comments about Liverpool supporters. It was a bizarre episode that perfectly captured just how miserable the Hodgson era had become.
CM: Alberto Aquilani

Joining for £17m to replace Xabi Alonso, the Italian managed just 28 appearances for Liverpool, scoring two goals, falling well short of the expectations required at this club.
CM: Christian Poulsen
At Schalke, Sevilla and Juventus, Christian Poulsen had built a reputation as a combative, hard-working midfielder. At Liverpool, however, the Dane looked like a shadow of the player who had earned that reputation.
Poulsen made just 21 appearances for the Reds, and his time at Anfield was effectively over when Kenny Dalglish preferred to start Jay Spearing ahead of him.
RW: Lazar Markovic
Markovic joined Liverpool from Benfica in the summer of 2014 for a hefty £20m, with plenty of expectation surrounding the highly-rated Serbian winger.
Instead, he struggled to make an impact at Anfield, managing just 19 Premier League appearances before being sent out on loan several times. His Liverpool career eventually came to an end with a permanent move to Fulham.
LW: Stewart Downing
Milan Jovanovic arrived at Liverpool on a free transfer, so his disappointing spell came at little financial cost to the club. Stewart Downing, however, was a very different story.
Liverpool paid £20m for the winger, only for him to fail to register a single goal or assist in the Premier League during his first season. That was a major warning sign, and despite a slight improvement in his second campaign, his underwhelming spell at Anfield was over soon after.
FW: El Hadji Diouf
Anthony Le Tallec, Andriy Voronin and Mario Balotelli — Liverpool have had no shortage of underwhelming forwards over the years. But El Hadji Diouf did almost everything possible to earn the ire of the Liverpool faithful.
His performances on the pitch were underwhelming enough, but his attitude and conduct made matters even worse. Diouf's spell at Anfield remains a cautionary tale of why clubs should think twice before making big-money signings based largely on a player's exploits at a World Cup.
FW: Andy Carroll
