It happened around 9:30 a.m. at the McDonald's on West Lodi Avenue. The suspect was injured in the shooting, but officials have not released the person's identity or condition.
Cheryl Steneck was in the drive-through picking up a drink when she said she suddenly saw police surrounding the restaurant.
Steneck said an employee told her someone inside had a gun.
Steneck said she was trapped in the drive-through, with a vehicle in front of her and police vehicles behind and around her.
"I didn't know who was getting shot and I was really, really scared for the girl that I was talking with in the drive-through because she's in the back, she's stuck," she said.
Police said there is no outstanding threat to the public. No other injuries have been reported
