Wade, 44, a basketball legend who is known for his time as a shooting guard with the Miami Heat, is now a co-owner of the Utah Jazz. But the devoted dad, who is married to actress Gabrielle Union, gave Instagram followers a bit of a shock when he revealed his freshly shaved face. Seeing as he’s always associated with his heavy beard, the baller looked incredibly young with his bare skin revealed.
“How many years did I take off!? The Beard needed a break!” Wade captioned his photo set, which included a throwback photo of him from childhood.

With busy schedules, Wade and Union have a solid rule that keeps that going: laugh as much as possible.
“We laugh our asses off. At all times, we laugh,” Union told PEOPLE earlier this year. “We just stay connected and we surround ourselves with people who believe in our marriage as much as we do,” Union adds.
The couple split for a short time in 2013 due to their conflicting schedules. But as Union told Glamour, they figured out a way to make it work.
“When Dwyane and I broke up briefly in 2013, it was because of distance and scheduling,” Union said, adding, “I missed some quality togetherness we desperately needed … Moving forward, I decided my work schedule has to make sense for our family.”
By the end of that year, they were engaged. The couple wed in 2014 in Miami.
