ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Back to Green on the Threat Tracker today, but it will not be a perfect day. A low pressure system will be dominating our weather today through Tuesday, with chances for showers, storms, breezy winds, and cool temperatures. A cold front passes through the region this morning which will clear our skies and allow the sun to heat us up to the low and mid 70s, which will add instability to the atmosphere. A second cold front will then help to spark up scattered showers and a few storms this afternoon and evening. Chances for severe storms are low, but the concerns with any storm that does become strong would be gusty winds and potential hail. It will also be breezy in general with winds out of the west gusting up to 30 MPH later today.
Behind the second cold front temperatures will fall to autumnal levels overnight and through tomorrow. Monday morning temps will be in the low to mid 50s and highs will only be in the upper 60s. Chances for showers continue and eventually will become lake effect rain showers, focusing east and southeast of the lakes.
This continues through Tuesday morning but we’ll dry out Tuesday afternoon as highs reach the low 70s. Sunnier, warmer weather returns Wednesday.
