ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Threat Tracker has a new Yellow Alert for Saturday Evening and Night as a strong to severe thunder threat moves through the region. After a mainly fair day for outdoor plans keep an eye to the sky after 5-6PM and into tonight for approaching storms. Thunder may bring locally heavy rain, lightning, damaging wind gusts and hail. Storms will weaken and clear by midnight.
Sunday will be breezy with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Another cold front moves through and behind that front an early taste of Fall will arrive into our region. Temps will drop into the 60s later tomorrow. Lake effect rain showers will develop and continue into Monday with highs only in the 60s during the day. Brief downpours will be possible with some lightning and small hail possible as the cool weather sweeps through. Temps will begin to warm-up into the middle of next week.
