With both Dermot Mulroney and Joe Miñoso exiting Chicago Fire in Season 15, there’s room for some new faces in the cast. One such face will be Matthew Daddario, who is set to join the upcoming season as a firefighter candidate, TVInsider shared.
The news came from an Instagram post made by already confirmed new series regular Da’Vinchi, who posted a photo of himself, Daddario, and Brandon Larracuente, who plays Vasquez, sitting on Truck 81.

Daddario, the brother of White Lotus actress Alexandra Daddario, is best known for playing Alec Lightwood on the Freeform series Shadowhunters.
As previously announced, Da’Vinchi joins Chicago Fire as a new firefighter Marcus Burke, also a candidate at Firehouse 51. His character is described as “roguish and funny with a wry sense of humor” but “also a little defiant,” according to AL.com. Da’Vinchi is best known for his role as Darnell Hayes in the CW series All American.
Miñoso, who has played firefighter Joe Cruz since the first responder series premiered in 2012, will exit the series in Season 15, returning long enough to wrap up his storyline. Miñoso is one of the last remaining original cast members on the NBC procedural, along with Taylor Kinney, David Eigenberg and Christian Stolte.

Like Miñoso, Mulroney, who joined the cast of the NBC drama Chicago Fire in Season 13 as Battalion Chief Dom Pascal, stepping in to lead Firehouse 51 after Eamonn Walker‘s departure, will exit the series early in Season 15 after wrapping up his character’s storyline.
Another big change for the series is new showrunner, Victor Teran, who replaces Andrea Newman after 14 seasons.
Season 14 of Chicago Fire ended with a cliffhanger as Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) and her team were engulfed in flames while responding to a fire, and then the roof of the same building caved in on Severide (Taylor Kinney) and his crew inside the building, trapping them. The episode ended with: Mayday! Mayday! The only one who was safe wass Pascal, who was outside directing the situation.
Chicago Fire returns for its 15th season on October 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
