Hayden Panettiere’s dad, Skip Panettiere, is mourning the loss of her daughter just three years after the death of his son, Jansen Panettiere.
Skip confirmed the Ice Princess star’s death on Sunday, August 16, in a statement to ABC News.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen,” he said at the time.
On what would have been Hayden’s 37th birthday, Skip took to social media to share a heartbreaking tribute to his daughter.
“Happy Birthday my sweet Hayden. Daddy will never stop missing you,” Skip wrote, later sharing a photo of Hayden and Jansen. “I can only hope that you are with Jansen and he has taken you by the hand.”
Skip’s remarks come just five days after the Remember the Titans actress was found unresponsive inside a Greenville, South Carolina, apartment. Her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, and his brother, Zach Hickerson, were also present at the time.
Despite efforts to resuscitate her, Hayden was pronounced dead. An initial autopsy did not find signs of foul play, however, an investigation into her untimely death is underway.
