ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The New York Attorney General’s Office says officials have recovered 10 kilograms of cocaine and 250 grams of fentanyl and heroin from a drug ring across Western New York and Puerto Rico.
Seventeen people are facing charges, including a Rochester man, 30-year-old Arami Morales. The AG’s office says the cocaine is worth at least half a million, and the fentanyl and heroin are worth at least $12,500.
Investigators say the drugs were shipped from Puerto Rico and sold in Monroe, Erie, Niagara, and Onondaga counties, as well as in Puerto Rico. The investigation began in September of 2024, first focusing on Buffalo’s lower west side.
Officials say they seized drugs mailed to locations and during traffic stops. The AG’s office’s Organized Crime Task Force led the investigation with the help of other state, federal, and local agencies. The 117-count indictment was unsealed on Thursday in Erie County Court.
