A popular power station sold nationwide at retailers such as Costco.com has just been recalled.

Goal Zero, dubbed “the original portable power supply company,” announced on Thursday, August 20 that it has recalled tens of thousands of YETI 3000X Power Stations “due to serious risk of injury from fire and burn hazards,” according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The recalled power station’s circuit board can reportedly overheat, posing a risk of serious injury from the hazards.

More specifically, the recall involves Goal Zero’s YETI 3000X power stations — about 46,200 in total. The silver and black portable power stations measure about 24.4 inches high, 18.5 inches wide and 22.3 inches deep. And it weigh roughly 92 pounds.

Per the CPSC, the units have yellow handles and a digital display at the front, with electrical ports. They sit on a rolling cart with two built-in wheels and a telescoping handle. The Goal Zero logo is printed on the front bar of the cart and on a nameplate located on the underside of the station’s lid along with “YETI 3000X”.

Consumers should stop using the power stations immediately and install the free repair in the form of a firmware update available through the Goal Zero application. Or, they should contact Goal Zero for firmware installation at no cost.

Per the Thursday recall announcement, the Utah-based Goal Zero has received four reports of the power stations catching fire, overheating and smoking. But no injuries have been reported.
