The Denver Broncos have added veteran safety Taylor Rapp to their roster ahead of their preseason game against the Green Bay Packers on Friday.

After visiting and conducting a workout with the Denver Broncos last week, veteran safety Taylor Rapp signed with the team on Friday morning, as first reported by Ian Rapoport.
Rapp, a seven-year veteran, gets added to a Broncos safety room that is led by second-team All-Pro Talanoa Hufanga, Brandon Jones, first-team All-Pro Devon Key (special teams), JL Skinner, Tycen Anderson, and seventh-round rookie Miles Scott.
Over the course of Rapp’s seven-year career, he has appeared in 93 games and has started 72 career games. He has 12 career interceptions and 488 tackles.
He spent the last three seasons with the Buffalo Bills, where he started 24 total games. In 2025, Rapp started and played in six games for the Bills before undergoing season-ending knee surgery.
Rapp will be joining the team just one day before they play their preseason game tomorrow against the Packers, and it doesn’t seem likely that he’ll play due to the timing, but because defenses are vanilla in the preseason, he might take the field.
It doesn’t hurt for the Broncos to add a veteran like him to their preseason roster, but it will be hard for him to beat out players like Skinner and Key, who have established themselves as impactful core four special teams players under Darren Rizzi. Rapp would have to have a big impact on special teams in order to stick.
He has played 451 career snaps on special teams throughout his seven-year career, with 242 of those coming over the last three years with the Bills.
Denver hasn’t announced a corresponding move just yet, although it’s possible that linebacker Levelle Bailey lands on injured reserve when the league wire comes out later this afternoon.
