WEBSTER, N.Y. — Fairlife held a ceremony on Thursday to celebrate the ramp-up of production at its $650 million facility in Webster, which aims to become one of the Northeast’s largest dairy processing plants.
State and local leaders were at the 745,000-square-foot facility for the celebration. The company says the facility will take in five to six million pounds of milk per day from New York dairy farmers, producing ultra-filtered milk for the brand owned by The Coca-Cola Company.
So far, the facility has created around 380 new full-time jobs. The facility broke ground in April of 2024 and has since attracted hundreds of job applications.
Fairlife aims to capitalize on New York’s dairy industry, which is the state’s largest industry within its agricultural sector. In total, the state has 2,700 dairy farms that produce over 16.6 billion pounds of milk annually.
The state and the county provided Fairlife with financial incentives to build in Webster. The company got $21 million in assistance through the state’s Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit program, an $8.5 million grant to bring power to the site, and more than $63 million in tax breaks and incentives from the Monroe County Industrial Development Agency. In addition, the state has provided $20 million to help Webster to upgrade its wastewater treatment plant.
