Simone Biles has fans talking after opening up about one of her “weirdest interactions” with an influencer.
The Olympian, who is among the world’s most recognizable athletes, has had her fair share of challenges when it comes to dealing with public scrutiny, but this time, her story wasn’t about the pressures of her career.
Instead, it was about an unexpectedly awkward interaction on social media that ultimately led her to unfollow an influencer.
In an Instagram post, she mentioned that they had been following each other “for a while” before she reached out to the influencer.

“And the reason why I followed her is because I loved her style, her content. She was super, super cute, but her hair was always laid to a T. Like, I could not tell if that was her real hair or a weave,” she said in the clip, adding that she was especially particular about her hair, since she has faced criticisms over her own hairstyle; hence, she was paying close attention to hair-related content.
Biles, who did not disclose the identity of the influencer, personally asked her to share her hairstylist’s contact information.
However, the situation took an uncomfortable turn when Biles received an unexpected response from the influencer.
View this post on Instagram“And she replies, ‘Bless. My manager has it. I’ll have to ask her,'” she shared, adding, “What? You don’t know who does your hair when you go to your hair appointments? You don’t have their contact or Instagram? Like, I get gatekeeping, but to a certain extent.”
The 29-year-old artistic gymnast speculated that the influencer may have misunderstood her intentions and thought that she wanted to “steal” her stylist.
However, the athlete, dubbed the most decorated gymnast in history, pointed out that she was simply hoping to book an appointment with the hairstylist if she ever traveled to the area.
“But yeah, I didn’t need that kind of negativity in my life, so I unfollowed her,” she added.
Biles’ confession was met with a strong reaction on Reddit, with commenters siding with the Olympian and playfully mocking the influencer.
“I cannot imagine being this weird and petty about a stylist. Especially if the person asking for a name is Simone Biles. I would be telling anyone that the person who styles my hair also has also styled the women’s gymnastics GOAT,” a fan said.
“I bet that hairstylist would be PISSED to learn she could have been styling SIMONE BILES’s hair. Crazy crazy crazy,” one wrote.
“The hairstylist should fire the TikToker from being their client,” another echoed.
As mentioned, Biles was very particular about her hairstyle, especially after she was criticized for her hair during the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she rocked a high ponytail.
At the time, she responded, explaining that the extreme heat caused her pre-styled hair to lose its original appearance.
“Don’t come for me about my hair. IT WAS DONE, but the bus has NO AC & it’s like 9,000 degrees … oh & a 45 min ride,” she said, followed by another clip saying, “Gonna hold your hand when I say this … next time you wanna comment on a black girl’s hair. JUST DON’T.”
