ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A cold front passing through Wednesday evening slowly clears the area overnight, with any showers going with it. We’ll be left with a partly cloudy sky for the rest of the night. We’re looking at a pretty quiet and mainly dry end to the work week. The only rain chance we’ll be watching Thursday will be in the Finger Lakes as a wave of low pressure passes to the south. At this point, the low should be far enough south for most of the rain to miss us, but we’ll watch the risk of a few showers making it into the southern Finger Lakes, especially southern Livingston, southern Ontario and Yates Counties. Friday looks great, with a mostly sunny sky and comfortable air in the mid 70s.
The weekend will be turning more unsettled as it goes on. We’ll likely start of dry on Saturday, but an upper level low combined with an approaching area of low pressure will bring and increasing chance of rain and some storms into the afternoon and evening. This will be a slow moving low, which means Sunday will also see some wet weather at times. Sunday’s rain may be more hit and miss, with scattered showers and some thunder mixed in with some sun at times.
Once this low moves away Monday, we’ll become mainly dry, but also a bit cooler. Highs on Monday will drop into the lower half of the 70s. With the cooler air in place, a few pop up showers are still possible, though most of the day looks dry.
