FARMINGTON, N.Y. — A car fire spread to a house on Meadowbrook Lane in Farmington on Monday night.
Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 6:40 p.m.
A retired firefighter, Wade L. Peck, was driving by when he saw the smoke. He used a hose at the house to keep the fire from spreading until Farmington and Victor fire departments could arrive.
The fire damaged the outside of the home. No one was hurt, and Farmington Code Enforcement cleared the family to continue to live there.
The fire, which remains under investigation, began in the engine compartment of a 2008 Buick Lacrosse parked in front of the garage attached to the home.
