VICTOR, N.Y. — The 14th annual Amerks Alumni Association Golf Tournament took place Monday.
Roughly 180 golfers competed in a scramble format at Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Victor. Some of those golfers included News10NBC’s Stacey Pensgen and Brett Davidsen, and former Buffalo Sabres Goalie Martin Biron.
Biron, who played for the Rochester Amerks for part of four seasons, talked about how the people, the fans, and the booster club in Rochester “take you in and raise you.”
“When you put that jersey on and you play here in Rochester, you want to be able to give back,” said Biron.
Until Monday, Aug. 24, fans can bid on numerous items, including a signed Buffalo Bills jersey, a signed Sabres jersey, a Sabres suite, and more.
Proceeds from the tournament and auction go to support several local charitable organizations right here in the Rochester area.
