Panettiere’s mom has yet to comment on her daughter’s death. However, in her memoir, “This Is Me: A Reckoning,” Panettiere claimed that her mother did not want a relationship with her after she asked to stop working with her at the age of 19.
“She never pursued a real relationship with me as just a mother and daughter. Once the business aspect was gone, I hoped she would simply be my mom,” Panettiere said on Jay Shetty’s podcast. “The fact that she didn’t seem to want a relationship with me was a tough pill to swallow.”
Vogel shared her side of the story in May 2026, telling Page Six, “After 20 years of trauma, I took the advice of professionals and chose the no-contact route.
