OVID, N.Y. — Friday marked 41 years since a Minnesota college student disappeared in Ovid in Seneca County.
State police say Kristin O’Connell was murdered, but no one has been arrested. Troopers say witnesses saw two men following O’Connell as she went for a walk alone on Aug. 14, 1985. They’ve never been identified.
A search party found O’Connell’s body two days later in a cornfield.
There’s a memorial walk happening this Sunday at the Ovid American Legion. It starts at 4 p.m. There’s also a bottle-and-can drive, with all proceeds supporting DNA testing.
