Coronation Street airs new dilemma for Sally and Tim Metcalfe in early ITVX release ...Middle East

News by : (Radio Times) -

Earlier this week, Tim bid farewell to his long-lost cousin Richie Parkinson (Nathan Sussex) after spending a few days catching up. He'd urged him to reconnect with wife Rachel amid their martial woes, and later dropped by his house on the other side of Manchester to return his wallet.

Upon arrival, Tim noticed blood splattered across Richie's shirt, and Rachel's lifeless body on the kitchen floor. It appeared that he'd killed his spouse.

The matter only complicated when a guilt-ridden Tim, who feared that this wouldn't have happened had he not imparted relationship advice, discovered that Richie's daughter Lucy (Anya Dewin) was struggling to find a foster home.

In today's episode, a terrified scream jolted Sally and Tim awake, and they discovered Lucy shaken and wide-eyed after suffering a horrific nightmare.

They then told foster son Brody Michaels (Ryan Mulvey) what had happened, prompting him to comment that her behaviour wasn't surprising given the trauma she'd endured after witnessing her father murder her mother.

Tim continued to try and ease his own guilt, convinced that Rachel would still have been alive if Sally had allowed Richie to remain living with them.

Later, Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) came across Lucy sitting alone on a bench in Victoria Gardens. When Lucy refused to engage with her, Lily branded her a "freak" and attempted to walk away.

Meanwhile, at Street Cars, Tim opened up to best pal Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) about what Lucy had witnessed. He explained that she believed it was self-defence, and that she was deeply traumatised by the experience.

Distressed by the situation, Lucy later admitted to her foster parents that she could not understand why her father had returned home that fateful night when he had already decided to leave her mother. Tim remained silent, keeping what he knew to himself.
