ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 23-year-old man is charged with attempted murder and other charges in connection to a 2022 shooting on Chili Avenue.
Along with attempted murder, Jamody Clemons is also charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Rochester Police say on April 13, 2022, officers found a man in his 20s with a serious gunshot wound to the torso on the corner of Thurston Road and Chili Avenue. The victim was brought to Strong Memorial Hospital, where police say medical staff were able to stabilize his injuries.
Investigators say Clemons and the victim got into a fight outside of a corner store when Clemons shot him before fleeing.
Police say detectives from the Criminal Investigation Section’s Non-Fatal Shooting recently got information that Clemons was the suspected shooter.
On Wednesday, Clemons was found by the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force as he was leaving a probation appointment and taken into custody.
According to police, Clemons is on probation related to a 2024 weapons arrest. Clemons was brought to the Monroe County Jail and being held on $250,000 bail.
