ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A mother accused of illegally taking her two children out of New York have been found living in a shed in Georgia by the U.S. Marshals.
Back in May, State Police requested help from the public looking for 6-year-old Amara Koschuk and 4-year-old Lincoln Koschuk. Troopers believed the two kids were with their non-custodial parent, 42-year-old Nicole Koschuk.
On Tuesday, Nicole and her kids were found living in a shed in Trenton, Ga. Nicole was arrested on an active arrest warrant for custodial interference issued by Wyoming County Court.
Nicole was turned over to the Dade County Sheriff’s Office and is awaiting extradition back to New York. She’s expected to be extradited at a later time.
State Police say the kids were found to be in good health and were turned over to the Dade County Department of Family and Children’s Services, until they can be returned to their legal custodian.
The investigation is ongoing.
