ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Our weather pattern overall this week keeps us fairly quiet. While it won’t be rain-free all week long, rain chances will be fairly low the majority of this week. Most of the active weather and storms will pass well south and west over the next few days. That being said, a cluster of rain and thunder may clip the western Southern Tier Tuesday morning, similar to what we saw Monday morning. This should move away early, and give way to more sunshine through the rest of Tuesday. There’s the slight chance we could see a pop up shower during the afternoon, but most of the time should be dry. Wednesday also looks mainly dry, with a fair amount of sunshine.
One thing we’ll be watching over the next few days is the return of some wildfire smoke. The majority of this should remain elevated, meaning it should not have an impact on our air quality or any health concerns. But it will be noticeable as far as the sky is concerned. Sunshine will be a big hazy and the blue sky will be dulled at times.
An upper level trough passing overhead by Thursday will increase rain chances a little bit by Thursday, but once again showers look fairly sparse at this point. Once it moves away and high pressure builds back in on Friday, our temperatures will fall a little bit into the mid 70s. The weekend looks like it’ll start off dry on Saturday, but some showers or storms may return Saturday night and Sunday. We’ll keep you posted if there are any changes to that weekend forecast. Humidity levels should also stay pretty comfortable this week. We’ll have a few muggy moments mid-week, but overall no big humidity this week.
