2026 Utah Senior Championships
July 20-22, 2026 Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center, Kearns, UT LCM (50 meters)Highlighting the 2026 Utah Senior Championships was 13 year old Jett Hatchard as he swam to a 2:05.69 in the boys 200 backstroke. That swim moved him up to #25 all-time in the boys 13-14 age group rankings. Hatchard won the state title while dropping three seconds in the process. His previous lifetime best was a 2:08.63 from a week prior. He entered the summer with a lifetime best 2:13.90.
In addition to his 200 backstroke, Hatchard swam to a 4th place finish in the 50 back (26.94) and 5th in the 100 back (59.15). His other ‘A’ final appearance was in the 200 free as he finished 8th in a 2:00.37.
The girls side of the meet was highlighted by Roni Black as she swept the breaststroke events. Black swam to a 32.55 in the 50 breast, 1:10.04 in the 100 breast, and a 2:33.84 in the 200 breast. This past week, Black dropped even more time in the 200 breast with a 2:31.81 at US Summer Nationals. Black enters her sophomore season at San Diego State this fall.
Utah commit Ana Diedrichs touched in a lifetime best 1:03.46 100 backstroke and a 2:21.55 200 backstroke. She dropped from her previous best of a 1:03.54 100 back and a 2:22.36 200 back from last July.
