It added that “hundreds” of interceptors had been pulled out of South Korea and elsewhere in Asia to protect American bases in the Middle East.

More than 1,500 Patriot interceptors have been used in the Iran conflict, leaving fewer than 1,700 in the US inventory, the Times said.
