For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Anna Honcharuk from Aurora, Illinois has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Purdue beginning in fall 2026.
“I am beyond excited and honored to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at Purdue University! I want to thank my family, friends, and teammates for their constant support and guidance on this very difficult journey. Special thank you to Coaches Michael, Chris, and Ecklund for constantly believing in me in and out of the pool. And of course thank you to Coach John and Coach Caitlin for giving me this amazing opportunity. BOILER UP!!!!! ”
Honcharuk swims for Fox Valley Swim Team and most recently swam at Futures in Madison, Wisconsin. There she was highlighted by a lifetime best 59.16 100 free which she swam leading off the team’s 400 free relay.
Back in December, Honcharuk had a strong showing at Winter Juniors West. There she swam to a lifetime best 23.32 50 free for 44th as well as a lifetime best 50.59 100 free for 33rd. She graduated from Waubonsie Valley High School this spring.
Honcharuk’s Best SCY Times Are:
50 free: 23.32 100 free: 50.59 200 free: 1:53.12The Purdue women finished 8th out of 14 teams at the 2026 Big Ten Championships with 497 points. Divers Daryn Wright (80 points) and Avery Wrobel (76 points) led the team while Reagan Mattice led the swimmers with 32 individual points.
Based on her best times, Honcharuk would have been 6th in the 50 free and t-5th in the 100 free on Purdue this past season. It took a 22.54 50 free and a 49.24 to earn a second swim at 2026 Big Tens. Hannah Hill led the team with a 22.45 50 free while Lara Phipps led with a 48.70 100 free this past season. Hill just finished her fifth year while Phipps is a rising junior, so Honcharuk will overlap for at least two seasons with Phipps.
Honcharuk will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Mackenzie Britt, Ella Dziobak, Alexis Peltcs, Alayna Riggins, and Caroline Mallard.
