GREECE, N.Y. — A 28-year-old man is facing charges after Greece Police say he stole a man’s car while the victim was helping a bicyclist involved in a crash.
Police say they started investigating the theft of a car on Aug. 5 after the owner reported he had offered to help a bicyclist after a crash in the area of Glenora Drive and West Ridge Road in Greece.
According to police, the suspect, Frank Giudice, stole the victim’s car while the victim was trying to help the bicyclist, and then left the area.
The next day, police say Giudice used the stolen car to commit other offenses, such as a fake return at a local grocery store and stealing from a local retail store.
Police responded to the retail store and took Giudice into custody. He’s charged with criminal possession of stolen property, unauthorized use of a vehicle, criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Giudice was transported to the Monroe County Jail for arraignment. According to police, the stolen car was recovered and returned to its owner.
