It is time for the 4th prelims session of the 2026 U.S. Junior National Championships.
On the schedule this morning, we have the 50 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke, and 200 breaststroke.
Emma Grace Richardson, who was the runner-up in last night’s 100 fly final, is the top seed in the 50 butterfly in 26.60. This is two tenths ahead of Lucy Velte‘s 26.84 in 2nd. The 100 fly champion Ines Arnall is seeded just outside the circle-seeded heats in 27.76, though she opened her 100 fly last night in 27.82.
Brady Campbell is the top seed in the boys’ 50 fly as the only swimmer seeded under 24 seconds in 23.90.
Emily Wolf is the top seed in the girls’ 200 freestyle at 2:00.45, just a tenth ahead of Vivienne Zangaro‘s 2:00.55. Alyssa Ton is seeded 3rd in 2:00.66 as the final sub-2:01 seed.
On the boys’ side, Connor Christopherson is the top seed in 1:49.65, the only swimmer seeded under 1:50 in the event.
Lane Francis has a six-tenth lead on the girls’ 100 backstroke field, being seeded in 1:00.37 to sit six tenths ahead of Maggie Dickinson‘s 1:00.90 in 2nd. They are the only two under 1:01 with Tha Bike coming in seeded 3rd in 1:01.73.
Elliot Leasure, the 14-year-old from Rochester Swim Club, is the top seed in the boys’ 100 backstroke prelims in 55.86, two tenths ahead of Jonathan Packles, who is seeded 2nd in 56.20.
The 200 breaststroke is the final event of the session and Sarah Zhang holds a very close top seed on the girls’ side. She is seeded in 2:29.83, just ahead of Abigail Bonham‘s 2:29.99.
Lucas Ackerman is the top seed for the boys’, sitting at 2:14.88, three tenths ahead of Tobin Uhl‘s 2:15.18 in 2nd.
