ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Today’s weather will be similar to yesterday with the exception of a few isolated showers this morning, and expect similar conditions through the rest of the week as high pressure near Bermuda and an upper level trough over Canada persists. This pattern drives in warmth and humidity into our area which helps to produce scattered showers and thunder in the afternoon. Highs today will be in the mid to upper 80s, dew points in the mid to upper 60s, and heat index values in the upper 80s to low 90s. Scattered showers with a few rumbles of thunder are likely to form east of 390 by the middle of this afternoon and move eastward into the evening. No severe weather is expected, but don’t be surprised if you get hit with a heavy downpour. When it isn’t raining, expect partly cloudy skies similar to yesterday.
Overnight will be partly cloudy and muggy with lows in the upper 60s, then tomorrow again will be partly cloudy with a chance of isolated showers in the morning followed by scattered showers and thunder in the afternoon moving eastward into the evening. Again, no severe weather expected; rather a heavy downpour. Highs will be a bit cooler with highs in the low 80s.
Saturday yet again will feature similar weather with highs in the low 80s. Be aware that afternoon plans may be impacted by scattered showers/thunder which will move eastward into the evening. Finally on Sunday we get a break as a thin patch of high pressure moves in which will keep our skies mostly sunny and our weather mainly dry. Unsettled weather returns for Monday and Tuesday before mostly sunny weather again for Wednesday.
