Chicago Bears offensive tackle Darnell Wright is cashing in on a strong 2025 season with a massive new contract, multiple reports say.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Wright is signing a four-year extension with the Bears that comes with $93 million in guaranteed money, the most ever given to an offensive tackle.
The contract could ultimately be worth up to $116 million according to the reports.
Taken with the 10th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Wright has blossomed into one of the game’s best tackles, and he had a strong 2025 season that saw him earn second-team All-Pro honors as part of a Bears offensive line that was dramatically improved from prior seasons.
Wright has missed just two games in his NFL career, starting 16 contests for the Bears during the 2025 season that saw them get back to the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
Coming into training camp the Bears had expressed interest in re-signing Wright to a long-term deal, and that mission has now been completed as the team prepares for its first preseason game on August 15 against the Cleveland Browns.
