With Molly McGrath transitioning to an NFL role at ESPN, the World Wide Leader has announced her replacement on one of the network’s top college football broadcasting crews.
Katie George will step in as the sideline reporter alongside play-by-play voice Sean McDonough and analyst Greg McElroy on ESPN’s No. 2 college football broadcasting crew.
McDonough and McElroy are set to begin their 4th season together in the booth. While George will be a newcomer, she’s covered a variety of sports for ESPN over the past 7+ years.
George most recently served as a sideline reporter for ESPN’s NFL coverage. She was a sideline reporter alongside Peter Schrager for ESPN’s No. 2 NFL broadcast crew in 2025-26.

A former Louisville volleyball player, George initially joined the ACC Network as a host in 2019. She was recently honored for an Emmy for Outstanding Sports Personality – Emerging On-Air Talent.
ESPN’s top college football crew will remain the same for another season — Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Holly Rowe. That trio has been together since 2021 and each member of the team has upwards of 3+ decades in experience at ESPN.
ESPN’s first college football game of the season will take place on Aug. 29 as North Carolina battles TCU in Ireland.
